Fly Fishing on Dartmoor

One of the activities that is available all year round on Dartmoor is fly fishing. You can choose from the tributaries of the River Dart on the high moor where the water first rises to the wider reaches down near Totnes.  The best time of year for fishing on the moor is from May to September for Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon.  Alternatively, you can travel to the nearby trout lakes for rainbow trout; there is an excellent one at the Tavistock Troutery about half an hour's drive away and great for adults and children.  You can hire equipment at The Troutery too.
