Wildlife at HolwellHolwell is home to a varied and rich wildlife. Flora and fauna greet you at every turn. This is a special place which has been allowed to be reclaimed by nature over the generations in many areas of the estate. One of the largest mires on Dartmoor is where you will hear Curlew and Snipe. Higher up the valley there are Woodcock and breeding Lapwing. A comprehensive Wildlife Survey has been carried out on Holwell and a Folder containing information on the flora and fauna to watch out for is available in the cottages.
